How to use this Czech Republic route planner

Start with the places that matter to you. The map covers selected destinations in all 14 Czech regions. Open a marker for a sourced description, typical visit length, indicative admission and a road estimate from Prague; then use the place guide for seasonal notes, family guidance and the official website.

Combine nearby places with different kinds of days: a city or castle, an outdoor stop and a flexible poor-weather option. Czechia is compact, but mountain roads, parking, seasonal hours and time inside attractions can slow a route down. For a calmer trip, keep one base for two or three days and leave room for changes.

  1. 1

    Choose an area

Start with Prague, one region or a clear corridor between two regions so transfer time fits the days available.

  2. 2

    Compare realistic stops

Use each place page to compare visit time, effort, family guidance, indicative price and the date practical data was checked.

  3. 3

    Confirm the live journey

Before departure, verify roads, public transport, weather, opening hours and tickets with live navigation and the venue’s official site.

Three route ideas to adapt

These are starting points, not turn-by-turn navigation. Follow the linked guides, compare checked practical information and adjust the order for your accommodation, season and transport. Travellers without a car should verify rail and bus connections separately because map estimates are for road travel.

2–3 days

Prague and Central Bohemia

Start in Prague, add a summer day at Slapy, then choose Konopiště or Kutná Hora. This compact route suits one city base and short regional outings instead of changing accommodation each night.

2–4 days

Lakes and castles in northern Bohemia

Pair Máchovo jezero with the climb to Bezděz, then continue to Sychrov if you have another day. This works well by car, but confirm seasonal opening and the final order before booking accommodation.

4–6 days

Mountains and family stops in Moravia

Give Jeseníky and the Pustevny–Radhošť ridge separate days because their trailheads are not close. Zoo Zlín adds an easier family day. Confirm trail access, weather and live driving conditions.

Useful places to start planning

Choose a place that can anchor half a day or a full day. Lakes suit warm weather, mountains need a weather-aware plan, while castles and zoos have clearer opening windows. Each guide includes practical timing and official links.

What is included for free

The public map and every destination guide are free. Filter the catalogue, inspect markers, compare road estimates from Prague and use the sample routes. A complete four-day sample itinerary is also available in the live demo.

When to use the Trip Builder

Use the personalised Trip Builder to combine your dates, pace, interests, family needs, budget and region. Creation requires a paid pass and produces a transparent itinerary framework, not live navigation, traffic, weather or a venue booking system.

Before you travel

Distances and times are planning estimates from Prague’s Old Town Square, not live directions between every marker. Recheck the final route, weather, attraction hours, tickets and parking shortly before departure, especially for mountain or winter travel.
